I feel guilty to drop the two I have in mind. But it’s too much. In the end it is better for me and better for these organizations to have someone who is in town and can help them more than I feel I can give my travel schedule.

And this IS my first—my first very true, very good, very kind love. May it be my only. May it be my last.
I’ve tried everything and the only thing that works is if i get a manicure weekly. Makes my nails and hands look pretty and, because I like pretty things, I do not bite my nails. But where I fail is in getting to the nail salon on a weekly basis to maintain. So I remove the polish, get stressed about something and bite (spit versus swallow) my nails. It’s disgusting.
I’m getting a manicure this week and will deal with the disapproving look of the manicurist as she “files” to create some sort of shape. Will try and have some nails by October 12, which is when I see my mother—who will notice and share her disappointment publicly if they remain the length they are right now. She might even smack my hand. Oh well. I deserve it.
