The Sabhas of today are pathetic (barring a few) in terms of giving a ‘quality concert experience’.
The plan is to run a Carnatic sabha that does the following well:
1. Have an own hall for the sabha that has excellent acoustics.
2. Hire a professional sound engineer (or be the sound engineer, after doing a course on sound engineering :) )
3. Book top notch artists.
4. Have schemes to encourage budding talents.
5. and please… the mixing console should be at the rear end of the hall. Not close to the artists!
6. Ban mobile phones, pagers and babies in the hall.
7. One top notch canteen to keep up with the Concert tradition :)
Consciousness is a ‘barely’ defined thing. Can a robot have a ‘consciousness’ comparable to us? (or even to, say, a slightly lower form Mammal). Just because I don’t “feel” the “code” thats running beneath my skull doesn’t mean I’m not a robot. Humans are chemical robots. Like how, to a computer, inputs alter its ‘state’, chemical inputs have shown that our ‘state’ can be altered.
I would really like to talk to a robot. It would be like talking to yet another species, probably the one that is going to ‘obsolete’ us humans and represent Intelligence in alien lands.
