....I have been working as a pet-sitter/dog-walker, so I have plenty of dogs in my life every day. Some are better than others, but they all have their own unique quirks and personalities that I have grown to love.
It has now been a little over 8 months since my surgery, and my knee feels really good. I actually can jog on it a little without it hurting, and it is tracking better than it was 5 months ago. I’m not saying I am at 100% in that knee because I haven’t really exercised it in the gym. I have been doing a tremendous amount of walking daily, as I have to for my work. I also biked for about 3 or 4 miles every day, and my knee never bothered me then. So for not going to rehab but one time, and just through walking and biking, it seems like I actually have my knee back. I also have hiked a little bit, and I may feel a twinge here or there, but otherwise I’m fine. I just have to build up strength and size in my leg muscles, which I will start shortly. However, here’s the “wouldn’t you know it” part…...About 1 1/2 months ago, I hurt my OTHER knee. It either happened while jogging on a trail while walking a 100 lb. German Shepherd, OR, it happened while jumping of one little step (landed on both feet). The step was only like 8 inches high, but a day later, whoa did my knee hurt. It continues to hurt to this day, but it never became swollen. I started taking glucosamine/chondroitin about 1 week ago, but need to take it for 3-6 months before I determine if it is helping or not. :: sigh :: It’s not bad enough where I will definitely go into surgery again, but it’s not something I want to live with for the rest of my life, so I have to try everything to get it better before considering surgery again. Sucks.
