So far I’ve worked out that I’m going to need approx. £200 a month depending on where I stay spending money. Flights to say, Thailand/South Africa, £600 return. Paying for the Conservation Project depending on which one I choose, approx £1800. Paying half my loan whilst away is £80 a month. Depending where I am living at the time, I may have to pay rent..hopefully I can shift all my stuff to my dads and get another flat when I return to Scotland though.
£200 Spending Money x 6 months = £1200
£600 Return Flights = £600
£1800 Conservation Fund = £1800
1/2 Loan Costs £80×6 months = £400
Total: £4000
I’m sure this will change, and I’m missing things…important things :(

I just watched a movie on TV that had Gene Wilder in it, and I remembered just how much I love that guy.
I just bought:
“Kiss Me Like a Stranger: My Search for Love and Art” Gene Wilder;
“My French Whore” Gene Wilder;
“On The Edge” Richard Hammond;
“If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor” Bruce Campbell;
“Lucky Man: A Memoir” Michael J. Fox;
“Born Standing Up: A Comic’s Life” Steve Martin;
That should keep me going for a while!! Gotta’ love Amazon!! :)

This is a very vague ‘thing’ that I want to do. I don’t specifically want to go to Kenya, but I have been looking into Wildlife Conservation for the last couple of days and have decided that it is someting I would like to do.
My career goal is definitely loosly based upon this type of work, and according to a lot of the websites about conservation, actually going abroad and getting hands on experience is the best, and probably only way, to get into this line of work. There was one I found that if you do 10 weeks on a project, you will be put forward for an internship, which (if successful) you are eligible to stay another 10 weeks, and hopefully gain employment somehow.
Obviously, there’s lots of things I need to think about before I go jet setting across to South Africa or Thailand…
