all those things that don’t really belong anywhere?
We moved from Alaska to Oregon three weeks ago and all of the major things are unpacked, minus the books as we have yet to build our new bookcase. We left behind three bookcases and are not putting up several shelves, so all of those things that are used semi-frequently (too often for storage, not often enough to be left lying about) have no current home.

Last night in a sudden burst of motivation this finally happened. All of my cookbooks are now located on top of a DVD storage cabinet near the kitchen, rather than in a pile on the floor. My favorite writers now occupy the long wall shelf near the bed, and other fiction that I’m likely to thumb through when trying to remember a line is set up on a bookcase in the bedroom. What didn’t fit there is taking up the majority of two other bookcases in the spare room.
Most importantly, one large box was filled of books to give away, and multiple boxes were filled with books to keep stored. Until we move, I think this can be checked off.

I think the problem I’m having with this is that there is a subgoal that needs accomplishing, first: buy more bookshelves. It’s hard to organize when you don’t have enough space.
