study abroad
On my way

I got accepted into the Erasmus programme and I am glad to announce that I will be studying in Poland for the spring semester next year (from February to June)! Now all I have to do is get all the extensive paperwork done and buy a plane ticket. I’ll be studying at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw and I’m really looking forward to starting my Polish classes in the fall. Yay me _

Learn Polish
Mój poduszkowiec jest pełen węgorzy.

This is pretty much all I know in Polish, and it basically means “My hovercraft is full of eels”, which is not a very useful phrase unless you’re attending some comic or Sci-fi convention in Poland (which is not improbable, but this is not the point).

Anyway. I’m going to study in Warsaw for a semester next year as an exchange student, so I view this as an opportunity to learn a new language. I’m really looking forward to this and I’m optimistic since I’m a fast learner when it comes to languages :)

find a new home
Just a place to call home

This fall, I went off to college.

Normally, for most people going off to college basically means chicks, booze, cool stuff to study (or not) and that’s about all. Lodging is by no means a priority to most students – especially boys.

Not the case.

I have just discovered that I basically have no home anymore.

Well, of course, there is always the old apartment in my hometown (350km away from where I study now), but I kind of stopped feeling at home there. Sure, it’s where I grew up, but now I sort of feel like I’m just a guest – I don’t belong here anymore. And the next fall, when my parents are going to move into a new house in the (almost) countryside.. well, that is definitely not going to be my home.

In Bucharest, I currently live in a dorm room. No, actually it’s more of a shithole. With weird flatmates (six of them, even). So, naturally, I’m desperate to move out. Which I will, come January.. but only as a temporary solution. Me and my future flatmate are looking for an apartment with two separate rooms.. and a cheap one too. So I wish ourselves luck and I really really hope we’ll find a cute place to rent that we can call home.
