Doing the Great Glen Way last summer gave me an enthusiasm for cycling even though I’m not the fittest person thats for sure! I’ll start from my home in Tain, just north of Inverness and head straight across to the west coast and over the sea to Skye! :D
Edit: a better route might be to set off from Inverness and go though Glen Affric which is meant to be the most beautiful glen in Scotland and then on to Skye that way!!
I cycled it from the 20-23rd August 2007, its much better doing it from Fort William to Inverness direction in my opinion! it was absolutely amazing – the sun shone all the time for the first time that summer! This summer I’m aiming to hike the west highland way. Oh but DO NOT stay in the Loch Ness Backpacker hostel in drumnadrochit – its absoluely awful and not really three stars as it claims! (not even half a star if you ask me). However, Morags Lodge in Fort Augustus is fantastic.
