I am going to say that going to Rwanda and doing community development work this past summer counts as courageous. Now, if you were with me, you know that every bit of it was juiced by joy, so it hardly counts as brave. But if you weren’t there, go ahead and think I was brave. Just for fun.
I did eat goat. That was brave.

I’ve just jumped on the fair trade bandwagon, happily. I’m starting with coffee. Its not that hard to find, it’s usually excellent, and it legitimizes my caffein addiction. Fair trade means that the growers get paid better for their work, and are not forced to accept unjust wages which keep them in poverty. Check out great fair trade items by googling Trade As One.
Do good.

Some friends of mine have been working with churches in Rwanda to help them develop workable solutions to the five biggest problems their country faces today:
p-promote reconciliation
e-educate the next generation, literacy
a-assist the poor
c-care for the sick
e-enable servant leaders
The folks doing the work call their teams P.E.A.C.E. teams, and I’m going on one in August, God willing.
To support me, just ask how or check out my blog :)
Can’t wait to come back and check this one off!
