National Novel Writing Month finally found a self publishing company, that’s willing to publish all the novels of people who won NaNo last year.
they’ll publish the novels for free and send them free of charge to each person.
this means I can have a copy of the novel I wrote last year! which is really exciting.
the thing is, I have to finish editing my old novel within six months, or the offer won’t be good anymore.
still, this is something i want. so i know i’ll be able to finish it.

How I did it: Well, it took me two days and three friends. But we decided on 13 songs to put on the CDs. Then, we went and bought blank CDs, and brought them home and burned all the tracks on them. Thirteen CDs later, with notes proclaiming in big letters "PICK THIS UP", we headed out the door for three hours of fun finding places to hide the CDs. We left them everywhere. In a Qwikway, Tim Hortons, fire hydrants and in trees. Door handles and walls. It… Read how I did it…
How I did it: The night that this happened, I had maed a pact with one of my friends that we would go star gazing. My friend came over, and so we decided to go star gazing together. Just before we were about to go outside, a song came on, and my friend said that she could play it on guitar. So we brought the guitar outside with us. The stars were bright, and we sat on my roof and took turns playing guitar and singing. I sang Things I'll Never Say while… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Sure, it may not have been a huge inspiration, and it wasn't that hard. But, last night I motivated my best friend to go out and dance in the rain. It was pouring rain outside while I was doing some homework. I went outside and danced around in it myself. A while later, I came online and was talking to my friend. I related my rain-dancing experience, and encouraged her to do the same (even if our parents were looking at us oddly...)And sh… Read how I did it…

this friday is halloween. now, my friends and i are getting a big old to go out trick or treating. so this year, we’re making 13 mixed CD’s with 13 tracks on each, to leave in 13 different places for 13 different people to find.
we’re going to write notes in each one of them that’ll hopefully help someone have a good day.
it’ll be fun trying to find obvious, yet not-so-obvious places to put the CD’s.
hurray for a new kind of halloween fun!
it’s about time i realized a few things.
the first of which being, what a difference confidence makes.
after i got back from camp this summer, i made a list of things that i am, or that i wanted to achieve.
i had realized then, that i am beautiful. i am smart. and i have lots of potential. i am a fun person.
in short, i just felt good. not cocky, not arrogant. but more confident. i didn’t doubt my abilities anymore, because i knew my perception of myself could hold back my ability to try things and see what i could actually accomplish.
sadly, the effects of camp wore off again under the pressures of high school. the drama started again, the doubt started again. am i thin enough? am i smart enough? am i too smart? do i need to be with someone to be happy?
but a few nights ago, i found that list i made. and remembered the feeling i had when i wrote it. and i remembered what camp taught me. and once again, i am confident. school and stress cannot break me.
i am strong. (:
