This trip was great, I took over 1100 new pics with my new lens – the learning curve was a bit tougher than expected, I thought it would be point, shoot and instant awsome picture but it took 1000 pics to start understanding compositional elements using this lens…it was also bright, hot and hazy as hell for the past few days – the digital camera was having a tough time white balancing, but I got a few great pics out of it. I have to send a thanks to my girlfriend Danielle who put up with having a lens in her face the whole trip! SMILE! .. no, not like that…smile natural =)

Took advice from the Alaskan Bootleggers bible on wine makin’. Great read and lots of fun – I had a tough time clearing the wines to a professional level but had a blast with the labels. Also getting the colors right is hard – rice wine came out great with a dark-brown ale texture. All the grape wines I made either came out looking like dark purple or light rose. It was a lot of fun and I’m glad I did it, but I think I’m sticking to buying from now on: $12 bucks a bottle beats 12 months of fermenting smell in my basement.
