So, I wrote an entry quite awhile ago about this, and I am making some progress. I have realized and sort of discovered a very awesome writing technique. Since I am and always have been a vocalist by my very nature, I have found that writing instrumental parts using my voice has become very fun and really practical. I would record musical ideas with my voice, then later go back and simulate with instrument. And sometimes, adding effects, turning the actual study into an instrumental part in and of itself. I am going to write an entire album this way. I feel a ton of inspiration and I feel the creative juice. Let me know if you have ever had this idea about using your voice as a writing guide for making instrumental parts. Could be helpful.

I am having a problem with getting myself disciplined enough to write and record a few songs. Well, I do have a few songs I have written that I think are really cool, but then I have to find a sound that fits with them, samples that should spice things up, a beat… basically, every time I attempt laying down an instrumental track in hopes of laying the lyrics on top of it all, I find something in the track that sort of turns into something else that sounds cool, and the track that was supposed to be this song turns into some other thing all together and I never get my songs recorded that I wanted to record. Anyone have advice for this? Also, I am having a hard time making decisions. It seems as if I like too many sounds and rhythms and ideas that I try and fit every variation into the song. It really gets out of hand.

I basically feel as if my music is my life. It is the thing I want to express everything going on inside of me to the world. It becomes hard to articulate and music allows me to say exactly what I want to. The issues I am having are really awful. I want to write my demo album, but I can’t seem to be able to execute what I want. I know I want to say something, but what? and how? I have everything I need! A mic, some instruments, some software for recording. Just need to get down to it!!
