Get some trash bags and start throwing stuff away. If you haven’t sold it yet, you probably won’t. The other option is to give it to Goodwill, but the important thing is get it out of your house.
A tip: Your trash pickup service may take special requests. I had some large furniture items that were really gross and really big. They took 4 of them and only charged me $7. It was a deal! You may want to check that out.
Good luck!

Yeah, it is still going on a little bit at a time. But we have made some really great progress. My kids rooms are now navigable. So is the basement. Everything is much nicer to live with. I still have other work to do, like cleaning out my garage and some landscaping. But I am really happy with what me and my boys have accomplished.
Count it done!

I read an article by a guy who had put together a wonderfully simple means of managing your money.
I recommend anyone to check it out. It is especially good for those who have just given up on budgeting. I think it is ingenious and I am using it exclusively for all my spending plans. So check it out!

I’ve been unhappy for awhile. And my response was to spend in order to feel in control. Fortunately I had a decent income which allowed me to spend. Even with that I am in waaay too much debt. Getting divorced didn’t help matters (I lost nearly my entire retirement account).
But I actually feel like I can do this now. I’m starting to feel happy again and I’ve got some hope.

It’s a great notebook for carrying around. I’ve got some pencils for drawing now. I just gotta do it. If I get something that looks halfway decent, I’ll try to scan it in.

I successfully made the divorce happen. So now I’ve got some room in my life. So me and my two kids started cleaning about 3 weeks ago. So far we’ve taken out 20 (yes TWENTY) contractor size bags of junk. We really are making progress. Unfortunately we are only one quarter the way through the basement!
But we’ll get there.

Woo Hoo!
I am completely divorced now. I have made the last payment in the process and she is out of the house and I am liberated!
I had no preconceived notions of how I would feel and I feel wonderful. I was so caught up in the misery of the marriage I couldn’t imagine being happy again. It’s a great surprise.
I’ve redecorated my bedroom (did ya read that: MY bedroom) and I have new furniture, new paint, and I brought my computer out of the dungeon of my basement and into MY bedroom! The flickr pictures next to my list are part of my new bedroom.
It is so nice. Now I’m in the process of making a great home for me and my two kids (I’ve got full primary custodial care; she has visitation rights). We’ve done a lot of cleaning up after years of crap building up. Things are looking good.
This will be my last entry in this list. COUNT IT DONE!!!

It’s not a new career, but I may get to have a new job. A company near my home (as in across the highway) will interview me, probably this week. I will no longer have to commute to work. This will go a long way toward some peace and satisfaction.

Though I am frustrated by this slow crawl. I have a date for a mediation session. If we come to an agreement on Jan 16, then I can be officially divorced on the 17th.
The ex is still in the house and I am so looking forward to her getting out.

I’ve got a divorce coming on and I’m keeping the kids and the house and I MUST get a handle on things around here. We have so much junk I can’t seem to manage it all.
I think trash bags are the only answer. Some of it would never sell on eBay. I have sold stuff on eBay but I can’t imagine people wanting some of this junk. And there is no way I want to do a yard sale.
Divorce goal is coming first. Hey, when she moves out I’ll just ship a BUNCH of the stuff with her. That’s a plan!
This goal is happening, soon, though maybe not immediately.

... and this is SO slow. This Tuesday I dropped off a settlement proposal at my lawyers office. I spoke with the lawyer and she thinks that my wife’s lawyer will probably jump on this and suggest to Sherry that it’s a good deal.
So things are looking up! Still trying to get her out of the house though.

I did my first wedding. I still have a lot of Photoshopping and printing and what not. But I got the weekend finished. Another step.

I’m headed to North Carolina tomorrow evening. I’ll be doing the wedding soon. I hope it goes well. I’m kindof nervous. Wish me luck!

I’m still practicing. Boy is it hard. You have to understand, I’m not a real piano player. Though I’m a good musician I never took piano; I just picked it up as best I could on my own.
And now I’ve made it all the way through the piece (albeit very slowly). Still, this is way cool.

The petition is filed and my wife and I are trying to agree to as much as possible. We have both agreed that I will keep custody of the kids and will stay with them in the house. She will get a job and an apartment.
Even though I have offered to give her more that half of the assets, she is skeptical and is worried that I am trying to cheat her. So I’ve told her to speak with her attorney. Hopefully we can work this out soon.
The big problem now is getting her out of the house. She needs a job before she can get an apartment and she won’t go live with her parents. I don’t know how to fix this but I’m trying.
But I can honestly say this goal is in sight. I can see it coming true. And I am so happy about this. This is going to open up whole new worlds for me. Like Loving a good woman or Visit England or even better combine the two !

I found a website where I could download it for free and printed out the PDF for it (google for free sheet music Claire De Lune). And I made it all the way through 2 pages! Of course I can’t play either of those two pages well.
But I found ALL the notes and it sounds just like somebody playing two pages of Claire De Lune! Only very slowly. And lots of repeats. And with a lot of cursing. But other than that, it’s just like somebody playing Claire De Lune!
I really think this is something I can do. Sit down with it every night for half an hour and I think I could play it reasonably well in only 3 months.
cool.

I’d love to feel that way by playing it. I can already play the piano a bit. I’m a musician, just not a real piano player. I suppose I just need to find the sheet music and get on it! I’ve done that with some other pieces. I’ve learned to play one hymn really well (O Sacred Head Now Wounded) and I can play a few other classical and big band pieces pretty well.

I have a friend who has become a head-hunter. So maybe he can find a job for me nearer to my house, which could enable a lot of things. He’s trying. And I appreciate that.

Lots of my goals seem to be on hold as I try to make my Divorce goal happen. The divorce seems to be going so slow. I think I will probably restart next week (how’s that for committed). And I also question how much stress I should put my self through during the divorce process. Sigh. Who knows. I don’t.
