I have decided to join the peace corps in January. It’s been in the back of my mind for a few years now, and I thought I better do it now before I get too caught up in being a grown up. I just finished my second year as a teacher and could feel how quickly time was passing. I’m super excited and thrilled for the chance to make a difference and do some traveling at the same time. I’m hoping I can even travel after my service before returning to the daily grind.

How I did it: I wanted to learn a sensual new dance, it was a toss up between salsa and tango. I decided tango was more complicated and somewhat more refined and decided to take a class. I started in April with a beginner's class once a week. I simply went online and googled tango classes in my area. Tango is pretty complicated and I stayed in the beginner's class for 3 months. This past month, my instructor offered a Tango Boot… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I thought a lot about how I spent my time, what I did with my friends, and the things I look forward to doing in the future. It's funny because I completed this goal like two months ago...so looking at my list is like revisiting that time in my life. This could be a worthwhile thing to do whenever you're feeling down....or you have a BIG issue in your life...you know, drama. Just another helpful form of expressing yourse… Read how I did it…
I’ve been thinking of traveling a LOT lately and I’ve taken a sabbatical from my career as a teacher in order to pursue this passion. I am excited and terrified, as well as tremendously nervous but I look forward to seeing the world!
Thinking of Africa, I want to see the pyramids in Egypt, climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and simply walk the streets of Morocco.
I have about a 1-2 weeks left on this goal. I have had a teaching assistant job since May, that I will continue to have next school year as an actual teacher! yay! I have some money saved up…thanks to my other goal. I have spent a lot of time around the island, hiking and hanging out at the beaches. I absolutely love the beauty of this place. I’m trying to take advantage of it all. The situation with living with my parents have improved. I am learning the art of shutting up. lol. Big news: I’ve decided to take a sabbatical 2011-2012 school year and go traveling instead. I plan on getting my TEFL certification and working while sightseeing. I’m super excited!! The only hard part is having to wait that long to go!!
