The city council bought 60 of our books. 60! That’s way awesome.
EDIT: I just heard from the publisher that we now sold more than half the edition (500) already. It was presented only yesterday! I’m telling you, pre-sale by crowdfunding is AWESOME.

How I did it: No it didn't make me filthy rich (yet!) because that's not really the point. Together with my friend across the street we compiled a collection of blogs about our neighbourhood and crowdfunded for set up costs. It worked: we sold around 120 books in pre-sale so we're risk free financially. Yesterday we presented the book in the local bookshop. The owner is a bit of a book celebrity with a monthly appearance on a national tv show and she h… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had this idea for a webshop and then started looking around for suppliers. Eventually I came across this thing called 'Paperworld' which apparently is the biggest trade show in Europe for paper. Okay, I thought, that must be a good place to make some new contacts! As the year progressed more and more people told me about Paperworld and how massive it is. Like, really BIG. So I just couldn't wait to see for myself. It is BIG. It is MASSIV… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I pushed her button and I pushed it well. It doesn't matter how hard you push it, as long as it is pushed. So PUSH THAT BUTTON!^For further clarification (and because of that stupid 150 character minimum): this goal relates to Warrior Queen & Jellied Eel (same person) 's goal to keep her promise to her sister. Personally I think promises are for keeping, and friends are for helping. So join in, push that button to your own ability, an… Read how I did it…

The boys who went missing are still not found. They traced the route of the car that the dad drove but they don’t know if the boys were in the car with him, and when and where etc. It has been since Monday night. It is so horrible that they can’t find the kids at all. Hope seems to drip away every hour. Every time I open the news page I expect to see the headline that their bodies have been found or something. I catch myself not expecting any good news. It is horrible.
EDIT: Monday night, still no news. The boys’ father was found dead, and the boys missing, last week Tuesday morning. A week!
EDIT: The boys’ bodies were found two weeks after they went missing, about 4 km from where their father hanged himself. Sadness.
I’m only adding it because I need to post this somewhere and my other goals won’t do:
The book I wrote with my friend is coming out tomorrow!
Yup, release party tomorrow afternoon. It is not so much a ‘book’ book as a collection of short blogs about our neighbourhood but it’s still pretty nifty. Also, any book we sell will immediately give us some profit because we (authors & publisher) financed it by crowdfunding. In effect this means that people pre-ordered the book and that took care of our financial risk. If you’re willing to bring money with you, a (small) publisher might be more easily triggered to get you set up for publication, eh? Yeah!
Excited! :)
