Perform in a play
Untitled 22 months ago

Just last Thursday I found out that I got a part in my school’s production of The Crucible! :3 I’m Sarah Good. Should be fun~ It’s not a big part, but I will rock those five lines I do have. XD

I’m so excited! Rehearsals start tomorrow night.

BBBSstill hasn’t gotten my reference yet- and if the friend I asked to do it doesn’t do it next week I think I’m going to get my other friend to do it. I got a letter about it today and it sounds like that’s the only thing keeping me out. Plus apparently she has an incorrect e-mail address (no idea how it’s wrong unless it was my writing) so I suppose I’ll call or e-mail her soon. I’m still eager to try this out, though!

I have to go shopping/scavenging for carnival supplies this weekend. Basically I want to get some fabric for the “tent” and maybe some stuff for my costume. Speaking of the conference, I also volunteered yesterday to be an usher for tonight’s performance of the school play; wish me luck on my first ushering job! ;)

go to New York City
Untitled 2 years ago

I went Friday with the theatre department at my school. I loved being in a big city, but our group wasn’t able to do much else than shop because our group was so large (I’d guess about a little less than a third of the people who came). Everything except Hairspray was a tiny bit of a let-down, just because I didn’t get to really experience it for myself. The show made up for most of it (it was divine); it was just that I hated having to stay with my group all the time, mainly because I’m a major introvert. I needed time alone, but I couldn’t get it because of safety issues. Hopefully I can convince my parents to go back as a family vacation; even if they make me stay with them, it will feel more like I’m alone since I wouldn’t have to try and be social. They say they want to go away for Christmas, and I’ve been trying to persuade them to go to NYC. Is that a good idea, or does it get too crazy at Christmas? Personally I wouldn’t mind it, but I’m not sure about my parents.

Either way, there’s always next year’s trip if I take Theatre III. I’ll probably go if I do, I’ll just try to pick a smaller group.
