We’ve got our garbage down to one grocery sack a week. We still compost fodd scraps and going to the local farmers market when we can. I try to buy in bulk or lager packages with less packaging. It is a on going learning processes. There is always something else that I can change.

How I did it: I live in Missouri where the soil is nothing but clay and rock, so I built a raised bed. It costs a little more to start but it is so worth it.Last year I had a single 8 by 10 raised bed. Now that's doubled and I planted 4 fruit trees and 3 blueberry bushes. You wouldn't believe how good it feels to know that you grew what you are eating, it just seems to taste so much better. Read how I did it…
I started seed inside a several weeks ago. They looked good to me but what do I know. I took them outside and within 2 days they were all DEAD. I’m trying again. I bought tomato plants. I’m trying cucumbers, green oinion, cantulope and watermelon from seed. They’re looking good so far. All but the watermelon have little seedlings. YEAH!
I spent alot more money than I wanted and it rained the next 3 days. I finally go to go for a ride today. I’m going to try to ride it to school everyday (weather permitting).
