get an Austin Healey Sprite (Frogeye, or Bugeye to Yanks) (read all 2 entries…)
Bought one 1 year ago

It’s British Racing Green (Don’t you know) and exceedingly small. The first thing I did after it arrived on the back a huge auto-transporter was to adjust the rear-view mirror, which came off in my hand. Sigh So I turned around to see while reversing and found I could damn near reach out and touch the road behind the car.

But it is wonderful. See?

discover the western world's most popular fictional character (read all 2 entries…)
What does it say about our psyche ... 2 years ago

... that our most popular fictional character in western civilization is an evil, shape-shifting creature of the night? That he can be elegant, persuasive, sophisticated, eloquent, cultured, charming, and yet regards us mortals with utter contempt? That he must feast upon our blood and discard our useless carcasses when they are exhausted? That he basically scares the shit out of us?

Kinda makes you wonder what the birds are twittering about and what the dogs are barking about and what the apes are grunting about, doesn’t it. When they sleep, that is.

lower my blood pressure
A "challenge goal" that I didnt' quite meet 2 years ago

Pity. My blood pressure IS a bit lower – 10 points or so – but not nearly low enough – 40 points – to forgo the stupid little pills. This amount of blood pressure reduction probably involves something tantamount to a Zen coma. Sigh

Or just exercise, ‘sensible eating’, and learning to say “No” to countless demands both politely and without guilt. A Zen coma is probably easier to arrange. That or a personalityectomy.
