Lived on the Big Island for 6 months a while back, and wish I could be there permanently. Love the weather, people, land, and experience of these magic islands. I want to respect the native people, plants, and animals who are from here. I want to give back as much as I take, and then some. I’d love to have access two an acre of land, grow all sorts of things, be a steward for the land, and live harmoniously with all.

I took a course in permaculture when I graduate from school, but haven’t really used that knowledge. I miss being close to the earth, and wish that my livelihood could be in farming or raising animals. I’m about to move to a new place where there’ll be a little concrete backyard. I want to challenge myself to make it an oasis.
As I grow older (I just turned 27), I feel that I am less interested in being different, radical, righteous and taking on challenges. I am now more interested in simplicity, my own small circle of family and friends, and things that make me happy. I no longer want to expend energy on trying to convince others for what’s just and right, but more keen on getting the most out of the simple things in life: food, friends, enjoying nature, creating art, and minimizing waste.
