It happened on a whim. I was helping Val look for a vehicle
on craigslist when we stumbled on her.
My Maxima had died from a freak flash flood accident
almost two months before and I was in the market
for something…anything, really.
A 1969 Avocado green Chevy Impala that matched/matches
my parents kitchen set from the 70s.
Similar to the one Skee-Lo sings about except
he referred to a ‘64.
I bought her for $1200 and I don’t think I’ll
ever get rid of her. Even if gas skyrocketed to $3.50
a gallon… Lady, you’ll always be mine.
