I’ve been smoke free for about 2 months now. While that’s not a huge amount of time, I’m considering this done because I consider myself a non-smoker, I have no problem saying no to cigarettes, even when drunk, and I just don’t have any desire to return to that lifestyle. I do get occasional cravings, but I derive more pleasure from saying “no” and meaning it than I ever would from lighting up again.
While knowing oneself is a lifetime process, I marked this as done because I feel, day-to-day, and it really is just a feeling, that I’m a complete person. I appreciate my depth, I feel original, and I’ve come to love a lot of the things that I used to be ashamed of. If I could offer any advice to the people out there trying to do the same, it would be to stop thinking about what’s cool and focus on doing what makes you happy. It will make a world of difference.
