My 3 month appointment is this week. 4 months ago

It made me think about this goal. I came back to read my old posts. I’ve got almost 20/15 vision now. I would sooooooooo highly recommend this.

I’m at the 3 month mark and still have very slight halo issues. It seems like my main problem is seeing the lines on the road when the streets are wet. I don’t do a lot of driving at night, so I am not sure what that would be like.

LASIK sounds like it would be a scary thing, but really it is not. It is so quick, didn’t hurt, and the recovery time was nothing. (Keeping in mind I had a small problem and had to go back once a week for a little longer than normal. I’m still saying 100% worth it.)

Today's follow up appointment 6 months ago

The bandage contact lens came out today. I still have some inflammation. I have to continue with the steroid drops every 1-2 hours. The good news is I went from 20/60 on Saturday morning to 20/25 today. (Prior to surgery I couldn’t read the biggest letter on the chart.)

It felt VERY odd driving without glasses today. It was also rainy and I had a bit of trouble seeing the lane lines on the road. I think that’s due to the halos around the lights. All in all it is tolerable at this point.

Well...... 6 months ago

I had my surgery yesterday & my follow up appointment today. I’ve got a bandage contact lens in my left eye & a follow up appointment on Monday. They said I have some swelling & all is not quite right. Nothing horribly unusual, but I have to do my drops every hour instead of every 4 hours like most people.

It doesn’t hurt. Everything close up is pretty blurry at this point. The distance vision comes and goes, which they say is normal.

I have gotten much more skilled at putting eye drops in my eye. I used to be just TERRIBLE at that.

I don’t feel like I’m reaping the perks yet, but overall this has been a painless experience so far. I am not looking forward to having the contact lens removed. One of the reasons I got LASIK was because I couldn’t handle putting in and taking out contacts. Blegh.
