So I haven’t drank in 13 days. One of my self-created obstacles to quitting drinking is that something bad always seems to happen as soon as I quit, causing me to crave booze more than usual. Well, so far I’ve been to the emergency room (which will probably cost me over $1,000 since I am lacking in insurance) where I had to get 18 stitches from punching through a window in anger, contracted the worst poison ivy of my life all over my body, found out one of my little brother’s best friends committed suicide and that one of my best friends has an infection from her c-section that’s really pretty bad. My house is a mess and I can’t do much cleaning cuz I can’t get my stitches wet but guess what…instead of craving alcohol I feel stronger than ever for staying sober through all of these crazy situations. I think that it is definitely worth it and I feel much calmer and saner than I would right now if I had decided to drink instead.

so far I haven’t lost ANY pounds. I am now 152. Drat. I should just try to eat healthfully. When I try to not eat very much I think I end up eating more. So I am eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner now, while being very fearful that I will just gain more weight. I have also been walking or hiking with my dogs for about 2 hours a day since Tuesday, so for the last 3 days. Tonight I am going to get started on my 1/2 hour of stretching, 100 crunches and 30 pushups 5 times a week aspect. Slowly but surely wins the race, right?
