After dinner (Normandy Pork with Apples and Cider… went down a treat by the way), I got back to hacking at my spoonthing.
Once I’d reasonably decided where the bowl was, I got out the CROOK KNIFE (gasp), and started chomping at the wood. Took a while to get used to how it cut, but I got the hand of it eventually. This is all for tonight. Will get some sanding paper tomorrow morning, and smooth this baby down…. ohhh yehh!

Well, I eventually found a pencil, and marked out a rough diagram of a spoon… not Van Gogh, but basically… ‘bowl bit’ and ‘handle bit’. I know it’s going to end up completely different…
Then I started hacking. By the time this picture was taken, my hands wished I had a sharper knife, with a real handle, not string…. ouch!

Then I split it into two pieces. I had originally planned on doing this with an axe, but it turns out I have fewer tools in my shed than I bought originally… who to blame? I dunno.
