Found out our instructor was a hack and a liar… what we were learning was a mix of several styles and not all Krav, we have to start over.
Haven’t been to Krav in a while because of health and schedules, but haven’t given up!

Late entry, but I bought my house in November. It was a icky process, but it’s great to finally be a homeowner, and the money I’m paying out each month is going toward something I own, rather than someone else’s pocketbook. I now own a cute little colonial in a suburb in an area with great schools within walking distance.
I sent the address correction to the 3rd bureau several months ago.
I got pre-approved for a mortgage this week, and meet with my realtor on Friday to start looking at houses in the area we want.
I’ve passed my yellow belt test!
My instructor also invited my husband and I to the leadership program, which will really advance my skills and training.
I am SO jazzed about this. I’ve never belted with a martial art before.
I haven’t bitten my nails in a couple of months, and actually have had to start trimming and filing them to keep them from tearing. They’re still fragile and will tear if I don’t keep them pretty short, but I have free nail on all 10 pretties, and they even looked nice natural (with a light pink frosted polish) for my wedding!!
I started keeping nail files everywhere I am… in the car, by my chair in the living room, at my desk at the office… and if I got a ragged spot and found my finger in my mouth, I’d file it down. I still get ragged cuticles and will bite them a bit, but catch myself and will clip them off immediately.
Cuticle oil and a good moisturizing cream while watching TV were good helpers, too.
Took out a 401k loan and paid off all but the biggest card, so I’m focusing on that one now, and this should impact my credit rating also and allow me to get a better rate on buying a house as soon as I have closing money saved up.
The CRT is great. Parts of it are a pain, but what isn’t? When I sleep in my contacts regularly, my sight is very clear during the day, without contacts. ROCK ON!
Woohoo! Way to go, me!
Had some unexpected expenses, so I won’t be able to get my reward MP3 player until next month, most likely. But am staying on cash basis, and sticking to the plan.
Next, I have 2-3 months to pay off the next card, my Lowes’ Visa. This one will get closed when I pay it off. I’m shooting for payoff in May, but my plan allows until June if necessary.
Well, my new optometrist ROCKS!! He is going to help me do whatever it takes to get out of my glasses.
Right now we’re trying a kind of gas permeable contact that can be worn at night to re-shape the cornea, and once you’ve worn it a while, you don’t have to wear anything during the day, your cornea retains the shape. I had a cold over the weekend and couldn’t wear them, but I’m getting acclimated to them this week. I can also wear them during the day like regular contacts, and the vision is VERY crisp.
If these don’t work out, there’s a couple of other RGP’s we will try, but we’ve already established that a soft aspherical contact gets me “good enough” vision and we can fall back to those if needed.
He also figured out why I have such awful vision at night, has to do with pupil size, and figured out that I can turn on my map light and accomodate it.
I’m thrilled.
Was referred to a new opto by a friend, I’ve exchanged emails with him about my specific eye problems, and he says he’ll work with me to get me into contacts. He specializes in hard to fit and sports contacts as well as computer ergonomics, so I’m hoping he’s the guy.
April/May 2007, and tickets are already selling… no decent seats available for the first weekend, ALREADY.
I had NO CLUE I’d need to buy tickets this far in advance.
I’ll try to save my spending money and get tickets next month. We may end up in the balcony, but I’d rather that than miss it.
Bought the bed… cost more than we planned, but still have some left over from the refund, and that’s in savings now. Have resisted the urge to use what was left for goodies or to accelerate payoffs… we need the emergency fund more.
Paid 1/2 of the totals on the 2 small Visas, will pay the rest of both of them in March as planned. Still need to write and close the LB account, the jerks.
The touring company will be in Dallas again… will be waiting with anticipation.
1) Get moving. I should do 15 minutes of SOMETHING every day… belly dance, aerobics, ski machine, biking, walking, SOMETHING.
2) Keep food diary, with emotional states. Figure out what the sticking points are so I can work out a functional eating plan.
First, I need to get my address cleared up with the 3rd credit bureau, and pull a complete credit report.
Second, I need to dispute the errors on my credit report.
Then, I need to see where my credit stands.
I am working on saving up money for down and closing.
Well, in January, I paid off my Lane Bryant account (which I will close out… they have been jerks and I don’t need the account anyway) as well as my Discount Tire account.
I also cleared my back taxes with the IRS, having it taken out of my refund.
That puts me on track with my financial plan. Challenge for February… DO NOT SPEND THE REFUND OUTSIDE OF THE PLAN!!!
We are in desperate need of a new bed, that will come out of the refund. The rest of the refund is to go into savings. That is my biggest challenge for February. I have the two small Visa’s scheduled to pay off in Feb & Mar as well, but not with refund money.
It’s great exercise and puts you in touch with your body. I’ve fallen out of practice, but am starting up again. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!
