Here’s the difficulty-
I have no shortage of ideas. I just have a shortage of discipline. I came up with an idea for a story the other night that is, in my opinion, pretty good. Something I’d like to read if someone else wrote it. But I have no time. And I stink at organization.
How in the hell do you write a novel (or anything else, really) if you’re me and you can’t get it together enough to write a resume, much less a book.
This is saying nothing for the other two “books” that I’ve been sitting on for about a year.
So the only think I can really do is stop my damn whining and just do it. Just start writing. Everyday. Or at least three times a week. As soon as this semester ends.
And hope for a newberry award…

I just finished reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (highly recommendable, ps) and now I want nothing more than to go stroll the streets of Savannah in springtime. Sit in the park and braid bits of spanish moss. Have a drink at Sweet Georgia Brown’s. Take grave rubbings at Bonadventure Cemetary. And all that jazz.
I think I may just go check out amtrak for fares to Georgia….

I paint.
I love to paint. I paint pictures. I paint walls. I paint things. I paint faces. Upon occasion I paint upon a dear friend of mine.
Recently she told me that for her wedding present (whenever that may be) she wants me to cover her with henna directly following the ceremony.
For this I will have to become experienced with using henna- something I have always wanted to do.
It’s so earthy and exotic and beautiful. I hope that with practice I can do justice to the art of henna tattoo.
