option overload. I was just faced with two different job offers (one at a bank and one at a school) and I sort of declined the bank job and now I’m trying to contact them again while this teaching job is being put on hold and may not be around anymore once I get round to deciding. So I have to decide today. Bottom line is, my current job is a bad place for me to be. It does not utilize my skillset at all and I do not see any career progression so there is really no point staying. I will give notice before EOD today.

leverage my skills

I’d like to find a job that leverages my skillset and talents. Since I’ve yet to discover where my talents actually lie, I’ve got a ways to go. I’m in a really mundane job doing data entry now. I used to be pretty good in math in school, then it sort of went downhill after graduation and further still in graduate school .. maybe because I was doing such math intensive stuff that it’s turned that part of my brain off now to compensate. So maybe I should stop looking for banking jobs. I used to teach, and used to think that teaching was pretty cool, and then I did so much of that now I’m turned off that too. Thing is, I have a Masters in Physics, which is supposed to be pretty versatile, but I have no idea how to navigate the real world.
