It was a good experience, and definitely romantic. I don’t think it was as romantic as some films make it out to be, but it’s there if it’s the right person. Part of it had to do with the fact that it was very cold, late at nite, and I had to drive an hour home immediately afterwards while soaking wet.

I’ve taken the step of actually speaking to a tattoo artist about getting it done, as well as choosing the right tattoo and location.
I plan on getting a mirror image of the latin phrase “Nosce te ipsum” (“Know thyself”) on my chest, so that every morning when I brush my teeth, I’ll see it in the mirror as a reminder.
The real test is going to come down to actually sitting in the chair and getting it done. I’ve got a friend who’s agreed to hold my hand, and I think the pain will be well worth it in the end.
Hopefully I’ll have it completed as finances allow.
I got a single coat of a light blue on my wall, and used some heavy thread to grid off the section of the wall where my design was going to be painted (I had taken a small portrait of what I wanted, then grided it off so I could work small pieces at a time). After the grid was in place, I never got back to actually painting the design. Good thing, too. We’re selling the house next month.
