I am morbidly obese. I have to move my butt each and every day to change that fact. I started out slow, walking for 30 minute blocks of time. I am now walking 3 miles per day and it goes a long way towards decreasing my massive girth. This is pretty darned good for the woman who didn’t want to walk around the corner to the bus stop every day. Now I rush home, throw on my tennis shoes and head to the local school to do laps at 3 miles per hour. When January arrives I plan on joining a gym and increasing the number of activities that I do.

I tipped the scales at 370 pounds at the end of October 2007. It wasn’t until June of this year, after emergency gall bladder removal surgery, that I began to really make the changes and serious effort it takes to lose weight.
I’ve set a goal of losing 200 pounds. I’ve already lost 80 and am 40% of the way to that goal. This is easily the biggest weight (pun intended) on my shoulders.
My progress is documented at my blog The Woman Inside Me.
