I specifically remember when I wrote that last post several years ago, that it was early in my third year of university when I was in Amsterdam, and when I was preparing to just about give up on the whole concept. I think I wrote this entry on 43things as a self-motivator.
Whether or not it was specifically this which motivated, I did it. I graduated in June 2009 with a first-class degree in European Arts. I suppose I needn’t have spent so much time worrying. ;)
To anyone else who happens to come across this post and is wondering about their studies, think hard about it, and only if you’re absolutely sure that continuing is the WRONG thing to do for you, should you consider dropping out. Think about how when you’re young, you have the best opportunity not only to go to university and get a respectable qualification, but also to enjoy it. I’m glad I kept my head down and just powered through, even though I spent a great deal of time questioning the point (I think I was going through a little depression). It turned out to be the best for me.
