Doing better

My usual morning routine is to roll outta bed whenever my daughter wakes me up, fix some breakfast and head straight to the computer for a few minutes just to check email and messages and what not. Well of course that few minutes turns into a half hour and that half hour turns into about two hours and then there ya go, I’ve wasted away most of the day doing nothing.

Well today, even though I’m sick, and I got a late start due to the sickness, instead of getting straight on the computer, I cleaned up the house, started the dishwasher, and started a load of laundry. Now I have the dishwasher going, the dryer going, the washer going, and my house is clean except that I need to vaccum. My bed is even made. That is a HUGE step for me. It’s not even 2 PM yet, usually I have all my chores still waiting on me this time of day.

I still haven’t mailed that damn letter out that I need to get in the mail. It’s been sitting on my desk for a month. But after I drop my daughter off at school tomorrow, I’m heading straight to the Post Offcie to drop that sucker in the mail!! No more putting things off till the last minute!! I feel SO GOOD about myself today, inspite the fact that I have the flu, and I want to have this feeling everyday. The feeling that I have done my part around here, my job.

It might sound pathetic but what I’ve done today was a HUGE step for me. This is just the beginning of a whole new me!!

My worst habit ever

I am the worst at procrastinating. It’s not just stuff like mailing out that letter to my family back home, it’s stuff like doing the laundry and mopping my kitchen floor, or cleaning out that cabinet, or dumping old food in the fridge. It’s the worst habit I have. I hate it!!!!! One thing I am going to acheive this year is this goal! I can’t stand it. I want to be successful, and on top of everything that I am responsible for. How can I do that if I put everything off to the last minute. It’s the worst. I will do this, I will make an honest effort DAILY to stop procrastinating!!!!!!



Quit Smoking
This will be hard

This will be particularly hard for me. I’m a Stay-at-home Mom, and I get bored easily. I like to smoke while I drink, clean, be on the computer, hang out with friends, talk on the phone, after a meal, etc. I have smoked straight now for 4 years. My health probably isn’t the best. I tend to get sick a lot, and I think it’s because I smoke. I also have asthma, so that doesn’t help. Of course nobody NEEDS to smoke, but I just want to smoke. I think the reason I have never quit is because I have NEVER really tried. And that is because to be honest, I have never really wanted to try. This year, I plan on doing it. It’s not at the top of my list because it’s not something I want to do right now. How bad is that? Well I’m trying to lose weight, and I know from experience if I quit smoking I’ll gain weight, so yea. There is my excuse. I’ll do it, and in the near future. But not right now. Losing weight is my main goal right now.
