Today, I realized I have an unhealthy dependence on my foundation.
My mother told me to go to school without it (as I have no idea where I put it) and I said, “No way. I’m ugly without it.”
And it’s sad that I’ve come to believe any outwards beauty I hold comes from a bottle of Maybelline’s Pure Make Up in Porcelain Ivory.
After rigorous jogging and drinking far too much water, I lost much of the weight I didn’t like. However, I don’t think I need to lose the weight. I realized that there is always going to be a flaw that I want to fix, whether I can or not, and instead of worrying about fixing it that it’s much easier to just accept it as part of who I am.
My niece says to my sister, “Why does it matter, mom? I mean, we’re all going to be wrinkly later anyways.” and I guess she’s right to a point.
Enjoy what you have now because you’ll be kicking yourself later when you realized you didn’t take advantage of your youth.
