This is the easiest and most challenging thing on my list. It’s easiest because being with my kid and giving him my attention is so instantly rewarding. It’s the most challenging because I have to get over myself. I can’t let anything else matter when I’m with him, and yet the world tries to pull me away…

Is it possible to make a plan to be spontaneous?
I’ve never had a problem being spontaneous before but the more I enmesh myself in a project (or projects) the less I find I do the unexpected things. Usually the “something new” is an unplanned activity, some whim that turns into an adventure. So that’s the paradox—all these “to do” items make it potentially less likely I’ll fit the spontaneous “something new” in.
Unless I work it into my plan. Hmmm.
