Eat a cheesesteak in Philly
Pat's 16 months ago

There are two big known cheesteak places in Philly, Gino’s and Pat’s. I’ve seen them on the Travel Channel and there’s always been a debate about who makes the better cheesesteak. I’ve been a fan of cheesesteaks all my life so I couldn’t wait to try them out.

I read the reviews and decided upon Pat’s King of Steaks. Disappointment :( Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t the worst sandwich alive. But I’ve had much better cheesesteaks outside of Philly. Pat’s cheesteak had poor ingredients: canned mushrooms, canned onions, average bread, flavorless meat, and cheeswiz.

Maybe this was the best cheesteak back in the day, but you can find better in nearly every city in the US.

I’m glad I went and tried it, but I wouldn’t go to far out of my way for the experience. And I have no desire to go again. Quizno’s makes a pretty good Philly.

dine and dash
Denny's in Connecticut 16 months ago

I dined and dashed in Connecticut this week. I was driving from Boston back home to Washington DC and stopped for breakfast at a Denny’s diner. It was very crowded and I had to wait ten minutes for a table, even longer for service, and yet even longer to get my food.

The waitress was not helpful and management was clueless. I went to pay for my food at the cash register and waited for a minute. I was sick of waiting and figured it would be a good time to run.

My heart was beating with fear and adrenaline and I nervously pretended to make a phone call and I walked outside of the restaurant, walked quickly to my car, and took off hundreds of miles away.

My only regret-I should have ordered more food!
