So, I emailed a bunch of people last night. This morning I checked my inbox and found a few people thought it was great, while others replied something along the lines of…...........”just what I need another social site.” I will tell them that 43 things is definitely more than that. I don’t visit any other social sites because I don’t need that in my life. I haven’t opened a myspace account or any of the like because I want to keep my social activities in my community. I feel that 43 things is a place where I can set goals, work on them consciously, and see other people who are doing the same. We get encouragement and receive encouragement. It’s a beautiful thing…......bringing people closer to the vision of their world!
and, ahem, it’s fun, too. How can that be bad, I ask?

I finally gave up aspartame. I have been drinking diet coke since the 6th grade. I am now almost 32. My fiance and I decided to start a family and I didn’t want that toxin in my body at the time of pregnancy. I gave it up, cold turkey. I had my last diet coke at a professional sports game early in February and haven’t even had a sip since. I don’t think I would even like the taste of diet soda anymore. I now drink more water, decaf. iced tea, and lemonade (made with, OMG, turbinado). I have to admit…...I miss carbonated drinks. I refuse to drink regular soda because of the calories and I don’t want the diet. Therefore, I don’t get that bubbly satisfaction (and carbonated water just doesn’t cut it); however, I figure it is a small price to pay for my health!

So, it was a long process. I paid all my credit cards (not much, but I wanted them paid). My problems came from a few late pays and a few collections from some more turbulent times in my life.
I challenged each negative remark on all three credit agencies; this took about 4 weeks. I then made sure I used my cards a little each month and paid them off completely when I got my statement.
Doing all of that took my score from the high 500s to almost 800!!!
It took more than a year, but I’m so happy I took an interest in doing it!!! It was relatively easy, just a lot of time put in.

Goose proposed on May 5. It was a wonderful day and a surreal moment in time when he looked into my eyes and asked me.
Ah! My heart stops just thinking about it!

yeah, I want to learn to pinstripe. I have a friend who builds from scratch or restores old roadsters. They have this guy, Alan Johnson, who does all their stripe work. He’s good. There’s a shot of him striping Jakes tool box. He striped a picture frame for me. The guy needs to warm up and Jake hooks up his friends. Anyway….....I’ve been interested in it since he turned me onto the art. The brushes alone are sleek and sexy and the deep colors of the heat tolerant paints…....WOW!! I want to learn the by hand method….none of the tape and rollers for me! Keep us posted on how your doing!

but, i’m just keeping the faith that he will. He is the sweetest man and I know it will be at just the perfect time in just the perfect way. For valentine’s, he made me 16 handmade chocolate covered cherries. They were sublime!!!! We have been dating on and off for 16 years now, as of this month. My! how time flies. It’s fun to finally be in the same place in life, both wanting the same things.
I’ll keep ya posted!

I left when i was 23 and returned at 31. i lived in florida, arizona, colorado, texas, and washington. i have to say i would still be in colorado now; however, with my entire family living here and my partner’s family living here…..and it being BABY time, we decided to move back (to bloomington…..wouldn’t consider anything else). I definitely think it is worth it…..to go find yourself, see some of the world….and find out where your feet take you. you would be surprised, amazed, and, maybe, just a wee bit…....homesick…......if you can believe that!

sometimes it hits at 2:13 am on a tuesday, sometimes it is while walking into a grocery store, sometimes it is while looking into my perfect partner’s eyes…......it hits at the strangest times; that feeling of being ripped apart, of having been lied to and cheated on after a 4 year relationship. i’m MOSTLY over it; however, i want to be completely done and the only memories that come back to me be the good ones i had with her, the kind ones. i left her and i’m glad….........i just want this feeling to completely leave me once and for all…...that fear that it could happen again.

So, we’ve been kickin this idea of getting a goldendoodle….you know, a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle. We have been concerned about contributing to the awful business of dog breeding, or ‘designer dogs.’ These dogs, though, have several things going for them…..they don’t shed (we are hypersensitive to allergens), they have the friendliness of a golden and the intelligence of a poodle, they aren’t as big, they are CUTE, CUTE, CUTE! So, we have decided to only get one if we can rescue one from a shelter. We will not purchase from a puppy mill. No way. Help stop the cycle of animal cruelty. Offer a loving spot in your family by rescuing a dog/cat of need!
