Yeah, I’m moving the goal post back a bit. The original goal to lose 20 pounds is a great idea, but it feels like a tougher thing to measure, since my scale doesn’t measure the change, just the weight. By changing the goal to something that the scale actually shows me makes it something that I will be able to see on the scale and that I can visualize in my mind.

How I did it: We identified a lawyer through my wife's investment advisor, and she turned out to be great. Networking for this sort of thing is the best way to go. We went in knowing roughly what we needed to accomplish, but not understanding the legal specifics or the implications of some choices, but ready to ask questions. The lawyer was EXTREMELY willing to work with us to complete all of the trust and power of attorney documents,… Read how I did it…
A former co-worker moved to New Zealand earlier this year, and his experience got me excited about the idea. I’ve been looking at Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland, as the language barrier is substantially lower in those places. This is going on the back burner for now, as I’m travelling with the family through mid-August and will have other priorities.
we met with a family law attorney yesterday and discussed our situation and needs. She gave us some options to meet the need, along with pros and cons. We’ve got a questionnaire to fill out to address some of the more detailed questions that we need to discuss and to which we need a common answer. Based on the conversation, the attorney thinks we can have this done in a couple of weeks (our timeline), which would be amazing.
