I’m 24 years old now…. and people know my name at the local coffee shop. I can tell you my favorite bar, and a couple of my top local bands. I have a bucket list of things I know I’d enjoy with a significant other (needless to say, that boyfriend didn’t work out).
I’m in school now, working toward what I want to be doing with the rest of my life. A Liberal Arts in communication to do public relations for independent arts. Supporting independent music and artists is very important.
My daughter is five now. She’s helped me figure out what I like to do. Acting goofy and arts and crafts is the highlight of my weekends sometimes. The previous entry can make me tear up.
I still don’t know who I am. I probably won’t know for a bit.
I’m inspired by love. I’m waiting for it to find me. But until then….it’s nothing but inspiration.

I waited about 12 years until I made my decision.
Mine is in memorial to my sister who died in 1998. She will now forever be remembered. So will the band my sister and I shared on our last Christmas together, and so will my best friend who helped design the tattoo. I now have one that memorializes all three of those things. I’m in love with it.

Here I am…20 years old, living in the heart of the city…and I really don’t have much of a to-do list when I wake up. No hobbies, no sporting event, no store that I could frequent…no coffee with my name on it at the local shop. I really don’t have a routine to my life.
Sure, I have a 2 yr old daughter, and wonderful boyfriend I enjoy the company of whenever we get the chance…but what am I doing to myself?
Perhaps…instead of taking these “steps” forward like you’re supposed to when you grow up…I’m taking steps back.
When I was a kid I could tell you activities I liked to do, bands I favored, instruments I would try and play, card games I would enjoy…but now? I wake up, get the kid dressed, take her to school, go to work, pick her up, and sometimes take her to the sitter while I see the boyfriend, or even take her to family for a week so they can spend time with her. But…I couldn’t tell you what my favorite activities are…hmmm. Perhaps this year, even though it has already flown, I should build some character, without being too liberal.
