It takes a lot of soul searching and knowning what it is that you DON’T want to do! Sometimes you have try on different things before you find the thing that is right for you. I believe that the road I traveled brought me to where I am and lead me down a road to self-enlightenment and self-awareness.

I quit smoking a little over a month ago, but then I found out I was being laid off. Then, they told me I wasn’t getting laid off…so the roller coaster begins. I started to smoke the day I found out I was losing my job. It’s been 2 weeks and I decided to quit again. No excuses this time. So I quit last night. My job really sucks sometimes and so I bummed a cigarette from someone and I felt stoned (a feeling I haven’t had in quite sometime)!
I don’t know if I really want to quit, but I know I have to and not just for my health, but because I need medical treatment that won’t be covered as long as I smoke.
Anyone have any great ideas?
I quit eating fast food. That is the only thing I changed in my diet and exerciseto begin with. The portion sizes that I eat now are much smaller and I’ve been drinking more water than anything. I have lost over 25 pounds in four months and I feel better and I look fantastic! I fit into clothes that hasn’t fit in over 3 years and now I’m not scared to wear that bikini to Hawaii this summer!! I think that because I haven’t lost any more weight in about 2 weeks, I hit a plateau, so I am starting a new exercise routine. I go bowling 2 days a week and the gym for power cardio-fitness the other 3 days. During the weekends, I take a walk downtown for an hour or so and then I go outside and do about an hour’s worth of yard work. The thing that scares me the most is that I will put the weight that I have lost back on when I quit smoking next week…
