We had a really good time doing this. Our parents were delighted with the surprise gift. It’s a great win-win goal!

How I did it: I started by volunteering to drive rescue transports. Within a few months, another rescuer asked me to foster a few cats. Because I wanted to see as many lives saved as possible, I offered to foster some more. Pictured is one of my former foster kittens that was adopted by a family member. I knew she would be well taken care of and as a bonus I would still get to see her. Read how I did it…
We did this goal one better by getting a minivan instead. The gas mileage is two or three times as much. Also, it helped achieve the goal of “driving the entire rescue transport”. It would have been too cost-prohibitive. It’s hard to get over the minivan stigma, but I’m working on it.
It’s funny how a simple thing like this can be uplifting. Being able to discard stained and torn clothing and everything large-sized affirmed my weight loss and better attitude.
