learn to dance
Started ballroom classes eight months ago.

The class covers a little bit of many different dances: Quickstep, Waltz, Rock, Salsa, Chacha, Paso Doble. We’ll be finishing the year with Tango and Samba.

We don’t go very far beyond the basic steps with a couple of simple variations, but it’s quite nice to be able to get on the dance floor!

At a very non-traditional wedding, the happy couple decided to subvert the idea of the “white wedding” to include all the invitees—a beautiful and meaningful way to celebrate together.

Well, I’ve kept it up for about a hundred days, using two websites (FitDay and Sparkpeople).

FitDay is oriented towards good and detailed nutritional reports, and SparkPeople is oriented towards weight loss community and support. SparkPeople is a bit more useful for entering data, but FitDay’s food inventory seems to match my habits a bit better.

In general, I’ve learned quite a bit about the nutritional content of what I eat and portion sizes. It’s funny that forcing yourself to write things down makes you think twice about what you’re eating every day… but now I’m done.
