In 2007 I had a full-time job and thought it would be a great idea to get a credit card!! I was stupid and maxed it out. Last year times were tough and I remember once my dad had to help me because I couldn’t make the minimum payment. I didn’t have that full-time job anymore so a lot of things were difficult. It has taken me two years to pay it off because once I’d pay some off, I’d have to use it again for something else that was needed. I ripped up the card months ago and now in about thirty minutes, I will be debt free. I also think I do not want one ever again. Life is so much simpler when you have a debit card.

How I did it: 1. Stopped using my credit card. I cut it up.2. I would pay more towards it than the minimum amount.3. Congratulate myself once I got closer to the light of the tunnel and being debt free. Baby steps is what it takes but you can do it! Read how I did it…
My initial plan was to get my one year certificate in practical nursing. I got into the program and everything and I thought it was what I wanted. Classes started up and I found myself bored and apathetic towards the coursework. Many times I felt my heart wasn’t in it. But I tried trucking along anyway. Each nursing student had to pass a math test to stay in the program. I was close, but I did not get the 80. Looking back I have always struggled in math, it takes a lot more effort on my part than say, english and writing, which comes naturally to me. I have decided to get my associate’s degree to transfer over. I’m not sure on a specific major yet, but a part of me feels like it should be english/spanish and education. I have always felt that deep within my heart I want to HELP people, make a difference in their lives, so that is my new plan for now. I know it will take a lot of perseverance but I will get through this.
