Dancing makes me feel alive, feel like my body is mine, and like the world is mine. I’d like to go dancing every other weekend.
Inhibitors:
- Husband
- Babysitting
- Cost of Babysitting
- Cost of Going Out
I think I can knock them down, one by one, until I am there.

I am fairly certain that no one wants to hear about Other People’s marital Problems. (An aside, would that be called OPP still?)
I actually typed this in on Google hoping that my husband would look over (from his computer…he’s a programmer) and feel opportunity/guilt/saddened and that the end result would be attention for me. As you may have guessed it failed.
When I drew his attention to this site (and how I got here) he logged in too and comments on how much he likes the site. Good for 43 things, not so good for me:)
I think I will try male p_r_ next. I don’t like it that much, but I am trying to elicit a response. Besides it is better than a poke to the eye!

Since I have moved from the East coast to the West I believe that you don’t have to:
1. just put in your time and gain ‘seniority’
2. be white
3. be male
I have always believed that one’s value to a company is just that VALUE. One should be paid and paid attention to based on creative ideas, logical implimentation, realistic goal-setting, and achievement.
It seems that the West Coasters are more comfortable with a 30-year-old CEO and women VPs, which were nearly unheard of in Richmond, VA.
I have not yet found how to show my value to a company…how to get them to see my potential and help me reach it for mutual benefit.
I am looking for some advice. I have been employed by a Biotech for nearly 5 years and have only have one promotion (sort-of, via an addition of job levels company wide). I have a BS and have 7-8 years experience. I’ve shown I’ve got hands (can do lab experiments), that I can analyze data, write reports, plan experiments, and plan whole projects. I have even supervised, well officially co-supervised, a summer intern.
While these are important tasks to have done for the company. I think I have a lot more to bring to the table, but cannot find an opportunity to show it.
