I miss him terribly today. Again, the sorrow comes in such bizarre waves. I think I am missing him so much today because I found out yesterday that a building for a business he created when I was a teenager is being torn down. It is so crazy that that has made me so sentimental and sad. I have also realized that I can’t empty all of my saddness because I don’t have anyone to really talk to about my grief. I have to help the rest of my family so much with this that I have no one to help me. I really need to figure out someone to talk to…??? I just want to tell someone who knows me…”I miss my dad today.” But I am too guarded…the phone has rung four times today, and each time I thought I would get the courage to tell someone but I didn’t…I think I just don’t want people to know I am sad or maybe I think they will think I am crazy that eight months later I am still missing him so much.

How I did it: I made a decision one day to finally declutter my old address book (old as in 12 years old at least). I bought a cute, simple, cheap new address book from Target. It sat on my kitchen table for two days before I said, "Each day I will go through and update my address book for ten minutes." In the end it took me three days and about an hour's worth of work. Read how I did it…
I lost a little bit of time on my 43 things…just got busy in life…
Five things I am happy about today
1. Made a decision to get all my old but good stuff into a garage sale next week
2. thankful for a friend that is powerwashing my entire deck (hasn’t had any attention in six years); it is starting to look fabulous
3. summer wine tastings…I love tasting little mini-glasses before I buy a glass or bottle – yummy
4. my two little boys who have made the summer interesting and fun
5. sunny days with cool breezes
