Cheer 900 goes to MomsL8 who just gave me the cheer I needed to hit it tonight. Special thanks go to Des for all of her cheers tonight. She would’ve had cheer 900 if it weren’t for the cheer goblin taking two cheers when I cheered a comment of hers. Special nod to Abby, MrWoop, Cathibeth, katchool, and Anna Blair for all their multiple cheers today that brought me to this point.

I saw this goal on her list of 43 Things, and thought it sounded interesting so I signed up. I’ve gotten my five addresses and will be sending out postcards tomorrow to the Netherlands, Brazil, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Portugal. Anyone who wants to send me a postcard can do so by mailing me at my nine-digit zip because I’m the only one who has this zip code: 16915-0094.

I’m creeping up here having given my 875th cheer to Shannon. Meanwhile over on 43 Places, I gave cheer number 1400 to QueenoftheHighway.

Instead of adding the goal about asking random questions or 43 questions or whatever, I thought I’d just pose it here under this goal and see if anyone notices:
What’s your native language? What foreign languages do you know (speak, read, listen)? And is there a foreign language that you would like to learn?

Okay, so I went through my spare bedroom where I store all the various things that I collect but don’t know what to do with so they get stacked there. A whole bunch of it went to some friends and family of mine as Christmas gifts. It helped me save money, and also helped me on this goal.

Updated my spreadsheet today and my credit card debt is now below $15,000. I know it’s going to pop back up when the bills from Christmas shopping come in, but seeing it at $14,900 is still a new landmark for me.

I received one more card on the 23rd from someone I hadn’t sent one to, and mailed one out to her on the 24th. The cards that have come in now are all from people I already sent to, and since it’s now the 27th if any more come in they’ll get put on the list for next year as 2005 is done and gone, baby.

The 850th cheer went out to Five_10 who slipped in a cheer in between cheer volleys from Cathibeth. My latest two went to QUEENofTACOS as I was out of cheers until she gave me a couple. Will I make it before New Years? Probably.

I’ve been having trouble with my laptop connecting to the network, and I finally decided it was time to break down and fix my desktop. I went to the local computer store and let the owner convince me to buy a new system instead. It’s a 2.8 Celeron 775 D w/256 Megs DDR400, 80 GIG HDD w/7200 RPM 8 Meg Cache, 56K Modem via raid system. All for just $399.00.

Growing up I was extremely afraid of needles. By giving blood I’m now able to handle needles, and even watch them as they stick me. Fun stuff. Plus, I’m O-Positive, which is something they need. And it helps clean out the system. Just do it already.

Not only have I learned how to do this, but I’m also an instructor in this.

It only happened once so far, but I did receive 31 cheers to give out one time by the cheer goblin. If I can only figure out how to make him happy… or is it a her?

I do this every year, but it only goes to friends, not to my family. It’s a nice way to recap the year for people I don’t stay in as close touch with as I should.

Orwell may not have gotten the year right, but many of the concepts that he put in this novel ring true in the United States today. We’d all do well to read or reread this book and then examine what President Bush is trying to do with his secret spying on American citizens.

So I’ve been catching up on episodes of this season’s Biggest Loser and I’m getting inspired. They all made quite a change in their lives. I’m not sure I’m willing to make the commitment that they did, but I do think I would benefit from putting some effort into this.

Well the cheer goblin has turned off already for me leaving me 11 short of 800. I still should hit this by the time I disappear for Christmas.

“Oh, large teeth have you. White sparkly teeth, mean I. All the time, hear this you must from your food. Bleach must you, dazzling smile there you have. Hint of minty freshness do I detect?”

I just received my 500th cheer here on 43Things, and I’m so tickled that it came from one of my favorite 43Thingers: abby713. You are awesome Abby! Thanks a million!
