FEEL THE GLOW 1 month ago

This month is breast cancer awareness month and this means $31 dollar Pretty in the City deals for the 31 days of October. I am so excited because I already booked 2 microdermabrasion facials (2 weeks apart), so by the end of the month my skin should be radiating light! hahaha

Make new friends
Untitled 1 month ago

When I first moved to Chicago, all my closest girlfriends from college lived here. Now all those girls have moved to NYC or abroad and I have one close girlfriend left here (my roommate) and my boyfriend. I have met a few cool girls from school but we aren’t super close, and I have some other friends from my sorority still here but they aren’t really the type of friends I want anymore.

Lately when my boyfriend has been going out with friends or can’t hang out with me, or when I see how much fun all my best friends in NYC are having, I get sad for myself that I don’t have friends to go out with anymore. Sometimes I think maybe my boyfriend might wish I had more of my own thing going on than depending on him for social interaction… and I think I must be showing some resentment towards him because the other day he asked “are you mad I was hanging out with other people?!” so clearly i have been showing some sort of signal there… And regardless of that, I would like to have more friends here in Chicago. Long story short – I need to make some new friends!!!

So how do you make new friends It was so much easier in college. Now the setting is a lot different. I am thinking that I need to get involved in more activities to start with, and maybe even meet my other goals at the same time!

Here are some things I am thinking I could participate in to meet people:
1. Join a running group
2. Volunteer somewhere
3. Join a book club
4. Be involved with Church

pretty skin plan 2 months ago

I feel like I should put a little extra effort into my skin. I naturally have large pores, so when I slack off on my skin regimen
it shows. I don’t know that I can ever have amazing flawless skin but I would like to do a little 90 day trial and see what happens. Here is the plan:

1. Drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday. Simple but VITAL part of the plan.
2. take multivitamin every morning
3. workout (sweat) everyday
4. shower immediately after workout
5. eat lots of fruits/veggies
6. eat fish 2x a week
7. exfoliate once a week
8. use sunscreen
9. minimize sugar and alcohol intake
10. wash off makeup every night and use german nivea cream after.
