With about three weeks to race day, i have to hope that my training so far is going to be enough. I’ve been running 2-3 times a week with my friend. Yesterday, we completed our longest run yet: 16km. It’s 5km short of the race distance, and we had a very hard time completing it near the end, as we ran out of water and the blazing sun was almost too much to bare. But we managed, and we finished our run. We’ll be going for 18k next week. Hopefully race day will be glorious and we’ll finish strong.

How I did it: I bought a game from a shop that was going out of business and I thought it would be fun to do with my friends. Little did I know that I would have friends fighting over who would get to be invited (8 player limit, you see). All in all, it worked out! We came all dressed-up, in character and with a sense of whimsy. It was great! The only drawback was that we'd chosen one of the hottest nights of the year and my poor little air condit… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I cut out starchy carbs, alcohol, sugars and processed foods from my diet.I also looked only for recipes and meal ideas as this was a pretty drastic change for me. That being said, I see this more as a lifestyle change, I feel much better about my health and my food choices. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I signed up with the Canadian Red Cross for a one-day class. We went through basic emergency preparedness, how to detect and treat for injuries, shock, choking and CPR. Read how I did it…

We got a call from our lawyer this morning stating that the builder would be closing the deal on March 28th! We also got our bank to offer us a better mortgage rate – from 3.09 down to 2.89 fixed over 5 years; which is a 2,000$ savings over 5 years. Yay! I can’t wait to sign my name on the dotted line and finally feel like I own my place :-)
