That’s me….I can’t help it! I see a book I love and I have to have it. It’s not that I will read the book again because I rarely do. Most of the time, I lend them out or I end up giving away some of them. I am learning to check out books from the library more and taking my children with me. I’m hoping to break the cycle!
I’ve always wanted to learn to sew. My husband used to tease me when we were first married about my lack of sewing ability. He would say, “What kind of wife are you that you don’t know how to sew!” My mom taught me the basics but that’s it. I would really love to be able to sew a dress for my daughter.
Okay, so a lady at my work sews pillowcases and pillows for children in the cancer ward at Children’s Hosp. On her own time and with her own money. She is a Saint! I have offered to help and she has offered to impart her knowledge of sewing. I am so excited! She has set a date and I can’t wait. I have an old sewing machine which used to be my Mom’s so I’m going to tune it up and get ready.
I went as a kid and didn’t see nearly enough. I would now like to take my own kids so that they and I can experience it fully. My littlest in 2 1/2 so I think in the next year, we can begin the planning. Camping or not, I think it will be an awesome sight to see.
