keeping a journal

I wrote in a journal religiously.

I pay attention to what makes me happy, what doesn’t, what I need, what I don’t, what my fears are, what pushes my buttons…miraculously, these provide for constraints to filter out a few options. I pay attention to myself, to others who seem to have found their calling. I tried my hardest to be honest. I do research but also rely on anecdotal accounts from people who seem happy (some in my field, others in my age group, and then there was “What Should I do with My Life” by Po Brosnan).

feel like I am 23 again
lumping the goal of drinking more water under feeling like 23

I am lumping this into the goal “feeling like I am 23 again” . As I am taking different steps to improve my health, I realize there are just a few key steps that can be integrated altogether. These include drinking more water, reducing the amount of stress in one’s life by proper planning and by resolving open ends, by exercising, and ensuring that one has a nutrition diet. I don’t know if I will feel and look like 23 again (7 years ago, as I am turning 31 soon), but I can try. In trying, I hope to have a system/process in place so that I can help others jump-start. Sometimes, small changes in our daily lives can make big differences that make changing a bad habit or getting a good habit a bit less demanding, a bit more enjoyable. I understand the concept of will-power but I’d like to reserve my will power for desperate measures and use my creativity for something like this.

finding the appopriate tools

I recently got MedHelp’s health-tracker to track my diet, sleep, exercise, and also the amount of water I consume each time. It’s integrated with iGoogle and has a social network component. My boyfriend participates (he’s on a diet plan) and he had encouraged some friends to join.

Now, Medhelp shows clearly the little that I drink each day and I push myself to exceed the amount the day before. And I have a small support group. I am usually very private with my personal life but MedHelp had motivated to share I guess through that experience, I notice how beneficial it is to have a support system. And since my goals this year involve redecorating my room, organizing my spaces (purse, home, office), I thought it might be useful to look for a similar website like MedHelp (but for reorganizing) and then I stumble onto this 43things account I created a year ago! I’ve came full circle.
