...not quite as elaborate as what everyone else is building, but mine was pretty cool too. it consisted of an empty water bottle, some drinking straws, rubber bands, a party balloon and coins for weight. saw it on an episode of beakman’s world :) it was a lot of fun to make. gosh, i love beakman’s world.

I’m happy to report that I finished the 2008 LA marathon yesterday!! It was gruelling as expected but I’m so glad I did it! The sense of accomplishment that I felt when I crossed that finish line is just immeasurable. Race day was unforgettable, running though the different parts of LA, seeing everyone, families and their children, volunteers, young and old from all parts of LA devoting their time to cheer us on was worth every sore muscle and achy joint (and sunburn). To anyone who has ever toyed with the idea of doing a marathon, I say go for goal and don’t let anyone scare you into not doing it. It was a beautiful experience and it makes me proud to be a part of Los Angeles :)

ok i read this briefly in high school and thought it was an interesting story… but now that i’ve finished a more thorough and analytical reading of it, i find Rand’s theories comical. i’m still impressed by her masterful writing, but not so much her philosophy. I still love the story and Rand’s dedication to her ideas, even though it gets exhaustingly redundant throughout the book. still a great read, and to each his own…
