my background is largely czech, which is why i wanted to visit there. in sept 2007 my boyfriend and i began to plan a trip through europe in the spring of 2008 and we included the czech republic. i researched my family history on my mother’s side and was able to track down to the farmhouse in tiny town where they came from. visited: Brno, Prague, Terezin, Kutna Hora, Tabor, Pilsen, Klatovy, Smrzovice. it’s cold in spring! Kutna Hora has a cool bone chandelier; Pilsen had a relaxed inviting feel; Klatovy had a great feel as well, and some catacombs which was bizarre. it’s still an affordable country. make sure to bring a phrase book.
