I already speak English and rough Spanish, but I would like to become fluent in Spanish, then possibly learn a third, maybe Japanese.

The days are short enough as it is. No sense in sleeping life away!
To expand your vocabulary is to expand your world. You can communicate what you are trying to explain in a better manner. It tends to add merit to your thought. Also, It helps to ensure people will be willing to listen to what you have to say because vocabulary is a measure of intelligence. People listen to intelligent people. Simple as that.
